Community Involvement

Proudly serving our community since 1940.

Although we face difficult challenges as firefighters, we are dedicated to making our community a better place whether we are working or off duty. We host and take part in several events each year to support local organizations such as the Bark in the Park and Perilous Plunge. We also engage with our community in day-to-day activities. Take a look at some of what we do:

    Youth Sports

Not only do many of us act as coaches for numerous youth sports teams, we also try to sponsor several teams each year to help pay for uniforms, supplies, and equipment.

    Local First Responder Families

We often donate money and help to local first responder families who are in need. We recently helped put on a “Cops versus Firefighters” basketball game to raise money for a local Sheriff’s Deputy who is battling cancer.

    Honorary Firefighter

Tristan is a local boy diagnosed with Leukemia. He’s a big fan of the department so we invited him to hang out with us and made sure that he had plenty of good times to offset the tough times he had going through his treatment. We reached out to all the local departments and to others around the country to send him well wishes while he was in the hospital. Through our networks he received patches, helmets, cards and t-shirts from all over the US. We're happy to report that he is doing well.

    Santa for Seniors

We have teamed up with the Senior Resource Center to raise funds and deliver gift bags to homebound seniors full of food and gifts at the holidays.

Child Fire Safety Education with Cali the Fire Dog

Cali the Fire Dog enjoys visiting schools, youth groups, Scouts, and other organizations with us to teach kids what to do during a fire.
